Comparing Frontier HSA and Blendable

Blendable is an advisor-led benefits company. It sells Health Spending Accounts alongside wellness accounts, an employee assistance program, travel and excess medical coverage, and insured life and disability plans, and blends them into one plan with your advisor. Frontier is a stand-alone HSA you can set up online yourself.

We checked Blendable's Health Spending Account page, claims administration page, and homepage on November 6, 2026.

Pricing

Frontier publishes one price: 8% of each approved claim, plus applicable taxes, with no setup, monthly, or annual fee.

Blendable does not publish HSA prices. Its pages ask you to get in touch or work through an advisor. One Blendable blog post says "we don't charge a claim fee", so ask how the plan is priced instead: an annual or monthly fee, a per-member fee, an advisor commission, or a fee on contributions. Get the full fee schedule in writing before you compare totals.

For its separate claims administration service, Blendable says costs are typically claims paid plus a processing fee, and it starts the plan by asking for a float equal to about two months of estimated claims.

HSA options

Blendable lists five HSA variants:

  • HSA Classic: unused balances carry forward for the member
  • HSA Rollback: unused balances go back to the employer after a set period
  • HSA Rollover: unused balances are invested in an RRSP
  • HSA Enhanced: allocated like a Rollback, but billed monthly for what is paid
  • HSA Select: for incorporated individuals, an HSA combined with excess medical coverage

Frontier has one HSA: the business sets an annual limit for each class of employee, funds claims as they are approved, and pays nothing for unused limits.

Claim timing

Blendable does not publish a reimbursement time. Frontier says most approved claims are reimbursed within 24 hours by EFT.

Who each provider fits

Blendable may be a better fit if you want an advisor to design a blended plan that also includes insurance, a wellness account, or an EAP, or if you want carry-forward or RRSP rollover options.

Frontier may be a better fit if you want a published price, online sign-up without an advisor, no deposit or float, and a plan that is just the HSA.
